Traditional Britpop of Dutch origin. The first names that arise when listening to STEED are The Jam, The Clash, but also definately Blur and Franz Ferdinand. STEED has taken those influences and has created it’s own unique sound. Quite an achievement bearing in mind the band have only been around since 2007. The songs are punchy, memorable and catchy. The unique voice of Alex Pasveer, the stylish stage performance and the presence of the powerful horn section make STEED that little different
till now..
In a short time STEED has earned the title of of “hardest working band” which it honestly deserves. Within one year, the first major gigs at festivals became a fact. It soon became a popular support act for Moke, Claw Boys Claw, Betty Serveert, The Madd and Customs (BELGIUM). It was not long before STEED entered the larger venues like the Waerdse Temple, Tivoli and Paradiso
from now….
Besides many performances 2009 was marked by the debut CD. With A Curious Case Of Countless Clues. STEED has pulled out all the stops to bring out the best of the songs in their portfolio. A strong horn section with Lorenzo Mignacca (Voicst, Waylon) and Anne Dockter (Pete Philly, Voicst), and the phenomenal Eric Vloeimans add some wonderful soul to the music. The collaboration with producer Frans Hagenaars (Excelsior) completes the picture.
…members; Alex Pasveer (vocals, guitar) Herman Halfmouw (guitar, vocals, organ) Roan Schenk (bass guitar) Misha van Toor (drums, vocals)
Additional horn section: Lorenzo Mignacca (trumpet), Frank Stolwijk (saxophone)

“A very good album from a band with enormous potential. If the band is as energetic on stage as the album sounds they can’t go wrong!”

“The varied britpop of the four came to its own right at Paradiso. The band stands for variety. From the sing along song ‘Moving’ through to the potential hit ‘Charlatan’. But the quiet almost acoustic ‘Away From The Crowd’ is the highlight of the evening!”
